Abstract
PURPOSE:To guide high-output laser light safely and achieve the improvement in operating characteristic and safety by letting a fiber held afloat in the space in a sleeve material and forcefully cooling the fiber as a heat source. CONSTITUTION:A tubular sleeve material 2 into which a fiber 1 for light guide is provided in the space in the axial direction of its inside and the inside diameter of its inside wall face 2a is made larger than the diameter of the outside circumferential face 1a of the fiber 1 to provide a space S between both. Air or other suitable gas or liquid is flowed like the arror F in this spacing S and this liquid is used as a cooling medium to prevent overheating of the sleeve member 2. In order to flow the fluid F, the fluid feeder 4 consisting of a feed source 43 for fluid, a terminal member 41 for flowing fluid to the end of the optical guide and a terminal member 42 or the like on the other side is provided and further the pressure of this fluid flow is enhanced up to a suitable pressure to hold the fiber 1 afloat in the space so as to prevent it from contacting the inside wall surface 2a of the sleeve material 2. Thereby, even the high output laser light may be guided safely.
