Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable photo sensitivity to be obtained in a wide wavelength region without impairing the characteristics of the CdS used by laminating two kinds of charge-transport layers and two kinds of charge-generating layers on a conductive substrate.
CONSTITUTION: The first charge-transport layer 2 forming solution, first charge- generating layer 3 forming solution, second charge-generating layer 4 forming solution and second charge-transport layer 5 forming solution are subsequently coated and formed on a conductive substrate 1. CdS is contained besides binders in either one of the first charge-generating layer 3 and second charge-generating layer 4 and a photoconductive material of different spectral sensitivity from that of CdS in the other. An electron donative material is contained in either one of the first charge- transport layer 2 and second charge-transport layer 5 and electron receptive material in the other. Here, the second charge-transport layer 5 is formed by transparent material.
