Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately stop a rotary body in a prescribed position, by accurately reading the position of the rotary body in terms of the sum of an angle detected by an absolute encoder and another angle detected by a resolver for detecting a minute angle in a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:A rotary body 3 is rotated by driving a DC motor 12 so that the rotary body is turned. After the rotary body is stopped, a feed gear 6 is driven by an indexing motor 15 to rotate the rotary body again. The position of the rotary body is detected in terms of the sum of an every 2 deg. signal R1 from an absolute encoder 18 and the output of a resolver 17 which performs one rotation per 2 deg. rotation of the rotary body 3 to generate an analogue signal of one cycle to detect a minute angle. When the detected position of the rotary body 3 coincides with a prescribed stop position signal r, a driving system 25 stops the indexing motor 15.
