Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a compound pipe which can be produced through the use of tape-shaped, string-shaped, and mortar-formed materials by continuously feeding strings or a long member consisting of a flat assembly of strings into a gap formed between a roll and the surface of a cylindrical spiral pipe.
CONSTITUTION: When a spiral pipe 7 moves in the axial direction while surrounding a core rod 2 and rotating, a roll 8 is set near the pipe 7, the setting position is so selected that the pipe 7 and the roll 8 rotate toward the inside and a gap G is formed between the pipe 7 and the roll 8. Guides 9 are arranged to be directed toward the gap G, strings 10 are passed through the guides 9 and inserted into the gap G, and a pipe-forming material 11 is placed over the gap G. Since the pipe 7 moves in the direction of the arrow X, the strings 10 are wrapped in the material 11 by the function of the roll 8 and transferred onto the pipe 7 together with the material 11. In this case, the material 11 is given a thickness equal to the width of the gap G and is formed into a pipe 13 attending on the displacement of the pipe 7.
