Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and simplify the circuitry by alternately applying positive and negative voltages to an electrostrictive vibrator with a single pole power source alone with the vibrator connected between differential transistors. CONSTITUTION:When a driving positive pulse P is applied on a transistor 21 and a monomultivibrator 27, a high positive voltage works on an electrostrictive vibrator 26 to cause an electrostrictive vibrator 4 to be deformed in the direction in which the volume of ink liquid chamber 2 increases thereby absorbing ink. On the other hand, a vibrator 27 produces an output pulse M1, which triggers a vibrator 28 to generate an output pulse M2. The pulse M2 comes to turn on a transistor 22. At this point, the transistor is off, a high positive voltage works on the vibrator 26 in the direction of polarization. Therefore, the electrostrictive vibrator 4 is deformed in the direction in which the volume of the ink liquid chamber 2 decreases. Thus, ink drops are caused to jet. Due to a unidirectional drive pulse P, positive and negative pulses are applied on the electrostrictive vibrator 4.
