Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a sharp 2-color image from a 2-color original in one step of copying, by laminating a photoconductive layer sensitive to colored lights A and B, an interlayer transmitting light A but absorbing and shielding light B, and a photoconductive layer sensitive to light in this order.
CONSTITUTION: Photoconductive layer 12 sensitive to colored lights A and B is formed on substrate 11 made of aluminum or the like, interlayer 13 containing a pigment or a dye transmitting light A but absorbing and shielding light B, and a binder, and another photoconductive layer 14 transmitting light A but being sensitive to light B are formed on layer 12 in succession to form a photoreceptor. For example, the receptor is uniformly exposed to light A (hνA) and charger 2 charges layer 14 negatively and layer 12 positively, and then charger 3 performs positive second charging. The receptor is imagewise exposed to white light, resulting in rendering layer 12 conductive by light A (hνA) and layer 14 conductive by light B (hνB), thus permitting a negative latent image in the part of light A in layer 14, and a positive latent image in the part of B to occur, and the area corresponding to the white ground to become zero potential. These images are developed and transferred to paper or the like to form a 2-color image.
