Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible good transfer free from production of transfer drop-out at the end parts of transfer sheet by providing an auxiliary pre-wetter aside from a pre-wetter and replenishing pre-wetting liquid with the auxiliary pre-wetter.
CONSTITUTION: An original platen 1 is reciprocable to the machine frame 2 of the copying machine and a photosensitive belt 3 is wound to rollers 4 and is driven. A transfer sheet 9 is charged to the polarity opposite from that of toner by a pre- charging corona discharger 12 and is deposited with pre-wetting liquid by a pre- wetter 13. It is then dried and fixed with a fixing device 14. The liquid pool of the pre-wetting liquid such as Freon, toluene or the like is produced in the space immediate before contacting of the transfer sheet 8 and photoreceptor 3 and the transfer efficiency from the photoreceptor 3 to the transfer sheet 9 is maintained in a high state but the liquid pool is not produced at the boundary between the leading end part of the transfer sheet 9 and the photoreceptor 3 and therefore an auxiliary pre-wetter 21 is disposed in the space in very proximity to the contact position of the photoreceptor 3 to supply the pre-wetting liquid, whereby the liquid pool is produced and transfer efficiency is increased.
