Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the cost for manufacturing an ozonizer and facilitate maintenance thereof by putting a flat platelike dielectric with a high voltage electrode closely contacted into a grounded electrode having an elliptic or rectangular section in a container with a space in-between to reduce the size of the ozonizer.
CONSTITUTION: High voltage electrode 16 is closely contacted to flat platelike dielectric 15 made of lead glass, borosilicate glass or the like, and dielectric 15 is put into grounded electrode tube 12 having a predetermined elliptic or rectangular section in container 11 made of electrically conductive material while leaving predetermined space 18 between tube 12 and electrode 16 through a spacer. Feed gas is introduced into gas chamber 11f from inlet 11h, ozonized by silent discharge in space 18, and supplied to a treating unit using ozone from outlet 11g. Thus, this ozonizer has no dead space, so it is reduced in size. Disassembly and assembly of dielectric 15 are facilitated to easily manufacture the ozonizer. Since cheap electrode 15 is used, the cost for manufacturing the ozonizer is reduced, and the ozonization efficiency is enhanced.
