Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the stabilization and long-term maintenance of optical performance by providing the protecting film composed of alkali-resistant material between optical transmission bodies and adhesive materials thereby hampering the direction contact of both.
CONSTITUTION: Optical transmission bodies are dipped in an aqueous solution of salts such as manganese chlorides or the like or acids to be extracted of the alkaline components contained in the inside, after which their lateral circumferential surfaces are coated with a resin protecting film 7 comprising fusion welding resin of good alkali resistance, e.g., epoxy resin, acrylic resin, etc. Light absorbing material such as carbon black or the like is dispersed in this protecting film and the optical transmission bodies are subjected to grinding treatment from the surfaces coated with the protecting film. Thereby, deterioration in the quality of the adhesive materials may be inhibited and the longer and stabler maintenance of the optical performance of the array may be achieved.
