Abstract

PURPOSE: To make birds deposit edible eggs comprising an organic germanium constituent, by administering an inorganic germanium to them.
CONSTITUTION: An inorganic germanium, e.g. germanium dioxide or highly purified germanium, is administered to birds depositing edible eggs, e.g. a chicken or quail, by formula feed or injection, and converted to an organic compound. Eggs comprising the organic germanium are thus deposited. Their excrements comprising the inorganic or organic germanium constituent may be utilized as a fertilizer for plants.
