Abstract
PURPOSE: A bacterium that belongs to Streptomyces and produces the trehalase inhibitor, S-GI, is cultured and said substance is collected.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism that belongs to Streptomyces and is capable of producing the trehalase inhibitor, S-GI, e.g., Streptomyces lavendulae sub sp. No. 9711 (FERM-4732) is inoculated in a medium and cultured with stirring under introduction of the air and the trehalase inhibitor, S-GI, is collected from the culture mixture.
