Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the volume of a semiconductor cooler by engaging the retainer of a semiconductor stack directly with a supporting hole formed at the side terminal plate of a cylindrical container and cancelling an intermediate supporting member.
CONSTITUTION: The retainer 10 of a semiconductor stack 5 is mounted through a mounting seat 11 welded to determine the size for securing insulating space necessary at the side terminal plate 4 mounting a sealed terminal 3. The retainer 12 at the other end of the stack 5 is engaged with a supportig hole 13 provided at the other side terminal plate 8 of a cylindrical container 2. Thus, the structure is simplified to thereby reduce the internal volume of the semiconductor cooler and a simple container can be thus provided with less restriction by regulations.
