Abstract

PURPOSE: To diagnose a local overheating of the rotary machine exactly and to prevent a trouble by continuously monitoring and analyzing the concentration of hydrocarbon contained in hydrogen gas as the refrigerant.
CONSTITUTION: A refrigerant sampling pipe 7 is provided to the high pressure side of the refrigerant in the rotary machine 1 that is insulated with organic insulator, which is thermally decomposed at high temperature, and uses hydrogen gas as the refrigerant, sampled refrigerant is fed to the fine particle detector 11 and the hydrocarbon detector 12 to continuously analyze both concentrations of fine particles and hydrocarbon. When the concentration of hydrocarbon exceeds a fixed value, the rotary machine is stopped on regarding as the occurrence of overheating. In this way, a local overheating can exactly be diagnosed without an effect of water and oil particles.
