Abstract

CONSTITUTION: At the center of the cable, flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride is applied on the tensile body 1' capable of holding tension-resistance characteristics even at high temperatures and heat resistant and nonflammable tapes 10 are wound thereon. Further, the optical fiber cores 2' and interposing cords 4' of improved flame retardance are twisted together on the tensile body 1'. The cores 2' comprise applying suitable primary covering and cushioning materials on quartz, glass fibers, etc. and protecting the fibers with flame-retardant PVC, etc. thereon. The spacers 3' which protect the cores 2' are formed to U-form by heat-resistant materials. Further, heat-resistant and nonflammable glass tapes 8 are wound on the cable core and metal tapes 6' and flame-retardant vinyl chloride 7' are applied thereon.
