Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture an adsorptive sheet which is easy to handle and excellent in yield, in adsorbability and adsorbent holding property by the procedure in which an adsorbent and a supporting fiber are dispersed uniformly and then combined with each other.
CONSTITUTION: The pH of a mixed acid suspension of a solid content of 0.5W 2wt%, consisting of less than 70wt% adsorbents, e.g., one or more selected from active carbon, acid clay, zeolite, silica gel, diatom earth, and active alumina, having a grain size of more than 90wt% 100-mesh pass, a supporting fiber, e.g., lint, glass fiber, etc., having a fiber length of 0.2W5mm on the average, and 1W30wt% deacetylated chitin of a viscosity of approx. 50cps(at 20°C and pH 4.0) for a 0.5% solution, is regulated by the addition of an alkali to more than 7 in order to insolublize the deacetylated chitin in water. Thus, a slurry containing adsorbent-adhered supporting fiber can be obtained. Then, the slurry is formed into a sheet of not less than 40g/m2 in wt. and 0.2W0.4g/m2 in tensile strength.
