Abstract

PURPOSE: To let forging works of different pressing conditions be efficiently accomplished, reduce forging time and improve dimensional accuracy by providing two pressing shafts which are able to cross with each other and simultaneously operating these thereby pressing the work.
CONSTITUTION: A top-and-bottom-direction pressing shaft 17 which extends vertically by pentrating through the work 1 is formed by the upper pressing head consisting of an upper anvil 6 and top side pressing platen 2 and the lower pressing head consisting of a lower anvil 7 and ground side pressing platen 3. On the outher hand, a horizontal direction pressing shaft 36 which extends in the leteral directions by penetrating through the work 1 is formed by the left and right side pressing heads consisting of horizontal anvils 18, 19 and horizontal forging heads 20, 21 to the horizontal direction of the work 1. Various changing free forgings are accomplished by such things as operating the pressing head of one shaft of the pressing shafts provided in such a manner as to be able to cross with each other at larger stroke and lower speed and the pressing head of the other shaft at smaller stroke and higher speed.
