Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to display accurate display of absolute value of cloth width, by providing a pair of edge sensors traceably with the change in the cloth width on the scaler placed broadwise of cloth and by directly detecting the edge sensor position with scaler.
CONSTITUTION: The scaler 4 is placed broadwise the width of cloth 1, and two edge sensors 5, 5' on the scaler 4 are driven with the drive units 7, 7' so that they trace the cloth endges 6, 6' broadwise the cloth. When the width is changed, the signal change of the edge sensors is inputted to the controllers 8, 8' and this control signal controls the drive units 7, 7' to follow the edge sensors 5, 5' to the cloth ends. Thus, the distance of the edge sensors on the scaler is always in agreement with the width of cloth and the absolute value of the cloth width can accurately be displayed.
