Abstract
PURPOSE: The title composition having improved corrosion resistance, workability, drying properties, and durability, applicable by one coating, consisting of a specific alkyd resin, a pigment, an anti-sagging agent, a hard resin, a plasticizer, and a necessary amount of a solvent.
CONSTITUTION: A) 20W40 wt.% solid content of a phenolic resin modified alkyd resin or a mixture of 35W100 wt.% of the alkyd resin with 65W0 wt.% of a neutral alkyd resin is blended with B) 5W20 wt.% of a corrosin preventive pigment of a lead compound, e.g., lead cyanamide, C) 30W60 wt.% of a loading pigment, e.g., CaCO3, D) 2W7 wt.% of an anti-saggint agent, e.g., bentonite, E) 1W10 wt.% of a hard resin, e.g., maleic acid resin, F) 1W10 wt.% of a plasticizer, e.g., raw vegetable oil, to give a composition with a viscosity of 3,000W4,000 c.p. measured by using Brookfield type viscometer (rotar No. 4, 20°C, 12 r.p.m). This composition is applicable by one coating, do not require a conventional compex step, playing a role of both a primer and a surfacer.
