Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an agent for promiting anti-tumor activity of 5-fluorouracil, containing uracil as effective component.
CONSTITUTION: Uracil is added to 5-fluorouracils such as 5-fluorouracil, 1-(2- tetrahydrofuryl)-5-fluorouracil, etc. to promote the anti-tumor activity thereof. Although uracil has no anti-tumor activity, it increases the concentration of 5- fluorouracils in the tumor tissue, while leaving the concentration in the healthy tissue unchanged. The molar ratio of the uracil to the 5-cluorouracil is pref. 0.1W 10 to 1.
