Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure activation by a system wherein a resistance value of a positive characteristic thermistor provided in the power circuit of a transfer relay is selected after start-up of a compressor so as to increase sharply at the time passing a peak load, and the transfer relay is turned off.
CONSTITUTION: In a compressor motor where a transfer relay 24 is actuated to use an outgoing line T of a main coil 21, a torque characteristic of the compressor motor is given as curves 50-1 and 60-1 in the drawing, and the same torque characteristic as a conventional motor is obtainable according to a position of the outgoing line T. Therefore a satisfactory torque is obtainable for the start-up of a hermetic motor compressor, and after start-up, a resistance value of a positive characteristic thermistor 25 having a self-heating property which is provided in the power circuit of a transfer relay 24 is selected to increase sharply at the time passing a peak load, and the transfer relay 24 is thus turned off, thereby securing activation.
