Abstract

PURPOSE:To firmly lock the gas spring by using negative pressure which generates in the closed space formed around the piston rod by means of the tongue piece of the cushion rubber and taper sleeve inserted into the same rubber. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical cushion rubber 6 is attached to the piston near the rod guide section 4 of the cylinder 1. The cylindrical tongue piece 7 is formed, as an integral unit, at the end of the inner cylindrical surface of the rod guide section 4 in the cylinder 1 and the end of the tongue piece so formed is brought into contact with the periphery of the rod 3 to provide it with full elasticity and deformability depending on the motion of the rod 3. The rubber 6 is provided with oil releasing hole 8 which passes through the inside vertically. The rod 3 is fitted with the taper sleeve 9 which is inserted in the rubber 6 during the expansion of the rod 3 and forms a closed space D along with the tongue piece 7 for a certain period around the rod 3.
