Abstract
PURPOSE: To obatin a crystal oscillator free from the jump of the oscillation frequency and with a low resonance frequency and the improved resonance frequency temperature properties by combining the secondaty oscillation featuring more than 10-fold resonance resistance to the resonance resistance of the main oscillation.
CONSTITUTION: The electric, mechanical and optical axes of the crystal ore are referred to as X, Y and Z respectively. And the crystal plate is cut out with the plate face of XY' face obtained by giving the θ-turn to the crystal plate featuring the plate face of the XY face round the X axis, and then the turning fork crystal oscillator is cut out so that the trning fork arm may feature angle ϕ=±20 or less to the direction of the X axis. If the thickness of the tuning fork arm is selected so that the main oscillation may be combined to the secondary oscillation, the resonance frequency becomes low along with the frequency temperature properties of 0∼40°C. Thus about 1/10 change is secured for the resonance frequency deviation of the conventional oscillator. As a result, an oscillator can be obtained with prevention of the oscillation stop due to the temperature change plus the oscillation frequency jump. And with application of such oscillator to the electronic watch or the like, the power consumption can be reduced.
