Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide stable emulsifying agent of excellent quality consisting of an esterified compound of oxide addition product of a compound having a primary hydroxyl groups, an esterified compound of oxide addition product of monohydric alcohol and a nonionic surfactant.
CONSTITUTION: From 0W200 moles of propylene oxide are added to a compound having from 3W6 hydroxyl groups such as trimethylol propane. Then, from 3W250 moles of ethylene oxide are added to the resulting product. From 16W100% of the hydroxyl groups of the oxide addition product is esterified with a fatty acid having from 8W24 carbon atoms. From 0W50 moles of propylene oxide are added to primary alcohol having from 8W24 carbon atoms such as capryl alcohol. Then, from 2W50 moles of ethylene oxide are added to the resulting product. From 30W100% of the hydroxyl groups of the oxide addition product is esterified with a fatty acid having from 8W24 carbon atoms. From 50W90% by weight of the ester product from the compound having hydroxyl groups and from 10W50% by weight of the ester product from alcohol are mixed with from 0W20% by weight of nonionic surfactant to obtain stable emulsifying agent.
