Abstract

PURPOSE:To stop a turntable from rotating when a disk is not mounted by providing a disk holder, holding a disk, with a circuit controlling a detection ring and motor. CONSTITUTION:Disk 10 is mounted on turntable 11 and is driven by a motor. In turntable 11, several (three in the figure) holes are made, disk support body 161 is fitted by screwing, and turntable 11 and rotation information detection ring 17 provided under it are joined and fixed. Ring 17 has nonreflective area 172 in region 171 reflecting light for rotation pulse detection. With disk 10 mounted, spring 163 of disk support body 161 contracts and light from LED181 of rotation information detector 18 strikes photo transistor 182, but when no disk 10 is mounted, light incident upon transistor 182 lessens, so that the existence of a mounted disk can be detected.
