Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve efficiency as the result of reduction in core loss and restriction of temperature rise, by first preparing a steel sheet having a thickness of predetermined range and impurities such as carbon and others of less than a given value, applying an insulative coating to it, punching and annealing.
CONSTITUTION: A steel sheet containing carbon of less than 0.05% and other impurities of less than 1%, for example, and having a thickness of 0.2 through 0.45mm, for example, is entirely coated with an insulative film. Thereafter, it is worked into a desired shape and size through punching and then annealed at a temperature of 700W900°C for less than 30 minutes. This processes insure the reduction of core loss, restriction of temperature rise as well as degradation of characteristics due to welding, and the improvement of efficiency.
