Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the turnoff circuit, by the structure such that a current proportional to the current of the main circuit of CTO is made to flow in the primary winding of a mutual reactor, and GTO is turned off by the current induced in the secondary winding when the above-mentioned current is cut off.

In this structure, the energy required for turning off GTO is accumulated in the reactor since current Ig1 proportional main circuit current I flows in the primary winding of the mutual reactor.
