Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform engraving of TV image free from degradation in resolving power, hue, gradation, etc. by reading out the frame video signals having been stored in a tape in synchronization with the scanning speed of an engraving scanner and converting the same to 3-primary-color printing signals.
CONSTITUTION: TV video signal are stored in a VTR11 tohether with frame numbers and according to reproduction the video signal of one frame of a desired frame number is stored in a frame memory 15. The storage content is partly trimmed according to need and the video signal for each of one horizontal scanning line is stored in even-number and odd-number field memories 24, 26 by way of a changeover switch circuit 22, 1/2H delay corcuit 25, etc. The memories 24, 26 are controlled by the specified dividied outputs of a frequency divider 18 corresponding to the scanning speed of an engraving scanner 32 corresponding to the exposure time, etc. and are outputted in synchronization with a scnaner 32. The outputs thereof are made to the printing image signals of 3 primary colors by a decoder 29 and (RGB)/ (YCBK) converter 30, and are added to the scanner 32. Hence, the TV images are engraved without picking up the TV images.
