Abstract

PURPOSE:To reactivate the permeability of permeable membrane by cleaning an organic high-molecular substance-polluted permeable membrane with a mixed solution containing a perborate and a sequestering agent. CONSTITUTION:A solution containing an organic high-molecular substance is subjected to a reverse osmosis or an ultrafiltration using a permeable membrane, and the used permeable membrane whose permeability is lowered is then washed with a cleaning agent composed of a mixed aqueous solution containing 0.005-1% a perborate, e.g., sodium perborate, etc., and 0.01-5% an ion masking agent, e.g., sodium tripolyphosphate, etc. Thus, pollutants adhered to the inside and surface of the membrane are cleansed by the cleaning agent and the permeability of the permeable membrane can be restored effectively.
