Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the detection of focus state and the warning of operation defect and achieve miniaturization through circuit integration by leading out the evaluation index signal of the imaging condition of the image from the output of a photoelectric transducer in a camera or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A photoelectric transducer 3 is provided with a multiplicity of independent photoelectric transducing elements and means of outputting the photoelectric outputs of the respective photoelectric transducing elements as time-series signals at the predetermined sequence and scans the image formed by an image forming optical system 1. The high frequency components in the time-series signals thus obtained are extracted 7, 8 and the absolute signals of the high frequency components are formed 9. These signals are integrated 10, sample-held 13, 14, and operationally amplified 15, 16 to produce 17 the control signal which discriminates the focus condition, front-focus and rear-focus conditions according to the results of operations, which are then displayed by LEDs 18. Here, the provision of an optical path length variable member 12 makes the evaluation of the plural positions on the optical axis easy.
