Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the adjustment of transmitting optical path length by inclining the face of a Faraday rotation element with respect to the optical axis according to the wavelength fluctuations of the light beam used.
CONSTITUTION: If the fluctuations of the wavelength of a light beam are detected with a wavelength detector and a Faraday rotating element 2 is inclined with respect to the optical axis Z-Z by a slight angle θ, then the optical path length D' becomes D'>D and the same result as that when a Faraday rotation element of a larger thickness is used is obtainable and the light isolator of a wide wavelength width, i.e., wide band, is obtained.
