Abstract

PURPOSE: To joint the titanium material without becoming brittle by sealing joint member across an intermediate member with the melting point of lower than the transformation point of titanium by the press resistance heating welding.
CONSTITUTION: A thick saling joint ring 2 is inserted between the cylinder 3A of a x-ray multplier tube 1 and x-ray incident window 6 of titanium material. After a nickel layer 23 is formed on the tongue 21A by metal plating, an intermediate member 8 comprising an alloy of 72% of silver and residual copper is provided therebetween, the members are jointed by passing a current pressing a resistance heating welding electrode, and the cylinder 3A is jointed by innert gas arc welding the tongue 21B and the frange 24. Thus the intermediate member 8 is welded at a lower temperature than titanium, the joint can be formed firmly without becoming of titanium brittle.
