Abstract

PURPOSE: A polyester composition with high dyeability that is composed of a polyester from dicarboxylic acids or esters and glycols and a specific compound, thus showing remarkable affinity for basic dyes.
CONSTITUTION: On the esterification, or ester-interchange reaction, polycondensation reaction or after the compoletion of polycondensation or before the forming operation of polyester from dicarboxylic acids or esters and glycols, is added a dimetal salt of phenylsulfonic acid or naphtholsulfonic acid of formula I or II (M' is alkali metal, M is metal; n, m are 1W2) in an amount of 0.2W8 moles per mole of the ester units.
