Abstract

PURPOSE: To exercise volume control by adequately varying the sum of an input sound signal and noises, by rectifying and smoothing a microphone output with its ambient noises detected before supplying it to an audio amplifier.
CONSTITUTION: A sound input applied to microphone 1 is converted into an electric signal, which is amplified by amplifier circuit 3 and a sound output is emitted from speaker 4. In microphone 5, ambient noise detected is amplified 6, rectified 7 and smoothed 8 and the output of holding circuit 9 is supplied to circuit 3. Consequently, speaker 4 outputs the sum of the sound inputted to microphone 1 and ambient noise, which is adequately varied for volume amplification.
