Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the wedge forming efficiency for a stator-winding inserting machine by providing a wedge forming unit separately from a winding inserting jig to thereby integrally attchably mounting the wedge forming unit at the jig having different diameter from the wedge forming unit merely by adjusting a scale or the like.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided a punch 28 for cutting a wedge 2, a bearer 7 moved by a cylinder 11 and a wedge forming drive unit 5 in a case 1. After a winding inserting jig 8 having predetermined diameter is placed on the bearer 7 and coupled to the end of a hydraulic cylinder 9 at its rod, the cylinder 11 is operated to rotate the bearer 7 to the position designated by broken lines. The punch joint 29 of the punch 28 is then coupled to the joint 30 of the drive unit 5, and the transmission gear 39 of a wedge feed roller 21 is coupled to the gear 76 of a roller drive mechanism to thus form predetermined wedge and insert the wedge.
