Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a printing ink having improved drying characteristics,free from the leaving phenomenon in printing and therefore suppressing the setoff, by compounding a printing ink composition with starch containing a specific amount of amylopectin.
CONSTITUTION: A varnish comprising synthetic resins (e.g. rosin-phenolic resin, etc.) and solvents (e.g. linseed oil, etc.) is kneaded together with pigments, solvents, a drying accelerator and 0.01W20wt.% on the basis of the ink, of starch (e.g. corn starch, etc.) containing ≥90wt.% of amylopectin, as an antisetoff agent, using a triple roll mill. The setoff-suppressing effect is further improved by adding a large amount of the starch.
