Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the torque detector of small size and mountable on the vehicle easily, by providing the pressure detection element with the main body support of internal combustion engine and detecting the pressure as the reactive force of torque given to the crank shaft.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure detection element 4 is fixed between the engine main body 1 and the support stand 2 with the bolts 24 and nuts 23 together with the rubber mount 22. The reaction torque of the crank shaft given by the combustion pressure inclines the engine block to produce the pressure corresponding to the engine torque with the engine support, and the pressure detection element 4 detects the pressure to the left support tilted with the engine. Since the pressure having positive correlativity with the engine torque is produced at the left support, it is not necessary to pick up signal from the rotating body through AC coupling and the engine torque can be detected easily mounted on the vehicle with a simple method that the pressure detector is fitted at the support.
