Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a regulated power source unit, which takes the output from the collector in the series control form, for output short-circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Control Tr3 is connected between regulated power source circuit 1 such as an AC rectifier circuit and load 2 so that the collector may be in the load 2 side, and diode 16 is connected between the case of error amplifying Tr4 and the collector side of Tr3 and is set to a polarity where it is conductive when the output circuit is short-circuited to the earth. By this constitution, impedance from line 13 to the earth through 16 as a charging part from capacitor 9 can be minimum; and if the collector circuit of Tr3 is short-circuited, electric charge of 9 can be discharged through 16 immediately, and Tr4 is turned off immediately, and Tr3 is turned off to eliminate the collector current, thus protecting all circuits from the short-circuit accident of the output circuit.
