Abstract
PURPOSE: A poly-4-methylpentene-1 composition that is composed of a poly-4- methylpentene-1, olefin oligomers and a specific flame retardant, thus being suitably used for an electrically insulating material because of its high flexibility, elongation, and processability.
CONSTITUTION: To 100 parts by wt of poly-4-methylpentene-1 are added 1W20 parts of olefin oligomers of the formula (R1, R2, R3, R4 are H or alkyl) with an average molecular weight of preferably 500W700 and a bromine value of less than 2. Further, 10W100 parts of flame retardant with a flame retarding index of over 22 as antimony trioxide are admixed to produce the objective composition.
