Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a piston cylinder from damaging by eliminating a trouble about engine rotation by putting a controller into normal operation after making sure of whether an electronic computer, etc., for the controller are operating normally or not.
CONSTITUTION: Control circuit 11 starts an abnormality detecting program by interruption signal (d) from abnormality decision circuit 32 and then outputs its arithmetic result to circuit 32 as setting signal 62. In addition, an initial program for engine control is also started by another interruption signal (b) from circuit 32. By using signal 62, circuit 32 decides on whether a microprocessor, RAM, ROM, etc., in circuit 11 are in normal operation or not and outputs signal (b) in case of normal operation. With the signal changing into "0", the contact of relay 41 is made and switches 31a and 31b are closed to turn a cell motor and also to apply a voltage across ignition coil 39. As a result, troubles as to engine rotation are eliminated and a piston cylinder can be prevented from damaging.
