Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a polyurethane solution having improved storage stability without corroding metal, obtd. by incorporating an acidic cpd. and tert.-amine into a solution of polyrethane.
CONSTITUTION: An acidic cpd. and tert.-amine are incorporated into a solution of polyurethane. Pref. tert.-amines are those having a dissociation constant of PKa 25≤8 at 25°C. Examples of the amines are aliph. tert-amines such as triethanolamine, arom. tert.-amines such as N,N-dimethyl aniline, N,N-diethyl aniline and heterocyclic tert.-amines such as pyridine, picoline. Most pref. are tert.-amines having a dissociation constant of PKa 25≤7. Solvents for the polyurethane solution include amides such as dimethylformamide, sulfoxides such as dimethyl sulfoxide, esters such as tetrahydrofuran and arom. solvents such as toluene.
