Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure decision of the proper threshold level based on the peak value of the video signal read out at every reading position by providing the forced discharge circuit to the circuit which holds the peak value.
CONSTITUTION: The forced discharge circuit is installed to the peak value holding circuit for the video signals delivered through reading head 1 to which the reading elements operating in the secondary scanning direction and in the charge storage mode are arrayed. Then the forced discharge circuit is actuated to once discharge forcedly the peak value held at the peak value holding circuit before the video signal is delivered to the peak value holding circuit from head 1 and every time the picture information in the secondary scanning direction (direction vertical to direction of right arrow mark) while head 1 is being shifted to the main scanning direction (toward right arrow mark).
