Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the automatic identification and switching among the monaural, stereo and hetere-program broadcast modes by utilizing the presence or absence of the control signal which gives the AM modulation to the subcarrier of 55.1kHz in the TV multiple sound broadcast. CONSTITUTION:The aural composite signal of the TV multiple sound broadcast possesses the frequency bands for the main channel, the secondary channel and the control channel of 55.1kHz each. And the identification is carried out via the control signal between the hetero-program and the stereo signal, and the carrier signal of 55.1kHz is extracted through filter 13 of circuit 21 which processes the subcarrier signals via the FM detector and the amplifier, and then converted into the pulses through pulse shaping circuit 22. These pulses are then counted by counter 23. And the counting action is controlled by the control signal obtained from AM detector 14. Then the switching signals are generated at circuit 24 and via the detection signal of counting to give identification among the stereo, hetero-program and monaural broadcast mode each, thus each circuit being controlled.
