Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a good passage for sucked refrigerant without changing a housing structure and thus to improve compression efficiency by forming a suction hole semicircular in section over the side plate of a fixed scroll member.
CONSTITUTION: A suction hole 244 semicircular in section is formed over a disclike side plate 241 of a fixed scroll 24 at a position surrounded by a spiral unit 242 side wall and a cylinder 13 inside wall. When a moving scroll 23 moves on a circular track according to an eccentric movement of a crank pin 22, an automatic preventing mechanism 29 operates to prevent the moving scroll 23 from rotating, which then comes to revolve on the track. A liquid taken in from outer periphery of the spiral unit 242 moves, as compressed, to the center consequently, discharged outside a housing 10 from a through hole 243 through a discharge space, circulates in a cooling system, forms a good passage for sucked refrigerant and then returns into the housing 10 again.
