Abstract

PURPOSE:To assess the gradation of color photographic paper and color balance effectively, by using a color compensating filter and a color photographic paper exposed so as to become neutral gray color at an arbitrary concentration position. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 1, being adjusted in the wavelength by a color compensation filter 2 and mixed and diffused by a color diffusion box 3 is radiated through a gray light wedge 4 (a wedge of neutral gray color prepared in equal concentration differences) on a color photographic paper contacted on the surface thereon, and exposed (the exposure time is adjusted by a solenoid shutter 5 and a rotary disc type shutter 6 being rotated by a synchronous motor 10). In this operation, the spectral wavelength is adjusted depending on the degree of insertion of the color compensating filter group 2, so that the incident light from the light source 1 may be turned to a neutral gray color at an arbitrary concentration position (e.g. the linear part of concentration 1), and each region concentration of characteristic curve is measured individually for cyan, magenta, and yellow, so that the sensitive layer of undesired tone may be easily found out.
