Abstract

PURPOSE: To diversify copying functions by incorporating an intermediate recording medium device to a scanning optical system.
CONSTITUTION: An intermediate recording medium device 24 provided with a space light modulating element 28, stored image fetch device 29 and stored image erasing device 30 is incorporated into a scanning optical system which scans the reflected light from the original surface on an original platen 10. If with this arrangement the plane mirror 15 of an imaging optical system 21 put in and out, the original images are formed directly on a photoreceptor drum 20 surface and are recorded as latent images and at the same time the original images are once stored in the space light modulating element 28, after which they are read out and are stored in a photosensitive drum 20, thus from one original image, plural sheets of copies are repeatedly obtained without repeated scanning of the light source 11 and mirrors 13, 14 along the original surface. Also, the adjustment of the image distinctness as well as the partial erasing and composition of images may be readily accomplished by changing the applied voltage.
