Abstract
PURPOSE:To treat incinerated ash easily and economically by heating and melting it in a melting furnace heated by electric power obtained by ellectric generator, utilizing steam of a boiler operated by conbustion gas of an incinerator and supplying the incinerated ash obtained from the incinerator. CONSTITUTION:An electric furnace, e.g. an electric resistance type melting furnace 4 is connected to an ash-discharging port of an incinerator 1. A generator 9 is driven by steam obtained from a boiler arranged in flue or a combustion chamber in order to generate electricity. A furnace 4 is operated by electric power obtained from the generation of electicity. Incinerated ash obtained from the furnace 1 is supplied to the furnace 4 where the ash subjected to heat-melting treatment. A direct resistance type melting furnace is used as the furnace 4 in which a material to be heated is used as resistor and molten by Joule heat generated. The furnace 1 is provided with a plurality of skirts stepwise. Garbage supplied from a port 3 is dried and incinerated during the passing downward of the garbage through the skirts. Molten materials treated in the furnace 4 can be utilized.
