Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A nicotinamide derivative of the formula (R is 3W12C alkylene).
EXAMPLE: 1,3-Bisnicotinamidopropane.
USE: Useful as a medicine having antiinflammatory activity and preventive activity against arachidonic acid-induced thrombosis.
PREPARATION: An α-or ω-diaminoalkane is reacted with a halogenide of nicotinic acid, in a solvent, e.g. water, pyridine, or THF, not at a specific but at a reasonably selected temperature between low and reflux temperature of the solvent, preferably in the presence of a basic compound, e.g. pyridine or Na2CO3, as a reaction assistant, to obtain the title compound.
