Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a soft-touch water-tight structure by causing a rubber membrane to stick to the one side of the sliding part, utilizing a water pressure difference inside and outside of the rubber membrane chamber which is formed with a static water pressure introduced into the other side of the sliding part.
CONSTITUTION: A water-tight part 3 consisting of a rubber membrane 10 established on the external surface 9 of an inner cylinder 8 is provided, and the water- tight part 3 slides on the internal surface 12 of the outer cylinder 11. The water- tight part 3 is provided in such manner as to run in a circle along the outer surface of inner cylinder 8. In this way, a water-tight structure of the sliding part between the cylinders for the cylinder gate, is provided. A static water pressure P1 in the outside, is introduced into a rubber membrane chamber 15 through a static water pressure inlet 14 located on the upper bracket 13. In the meantime, a low pressure P2 of the inside of the cylinder gate is introduced in the part 17 lower than the water-tight part 3 between the outer and inner cylinders. Therefore, due to a pressure difference (P1WP2) which is generated inside and outside of the rubber membrane chamber 15, a soft rubber membrane 10 is caused to be tightly pressed against the internal surface 12 of the outer cylinder 11, thus maintaining a water- tight condition.
