Abstract

PURPOSE: To establish the detector for deteriorated kerosene with easy handling and stable detection characteristics in time aging, by filling in the crysatl zeolite of rare earth ion exchange.
CONSTITUTION: The zeolite performing ion exchange for the sodium ion of the crystal zeolite represented in the general equation Nax[(AlO3)x(SiO3)y]mH2O, with the rare earth ions, is used. That is, at one end of the pyrex glass tube 1, the said zeolite 3 is inserted between the glass wools 2, 2 being the fixed material (the code shows the cut-off line) to form the detector. In the said detector, the pyrex glass tube 1 is cut-off with the cut-off line 4, this is immersed in the test oil to contact the zeolite 3 with test oil, and the detection of the deteriorated oil is made by measuring the color change. Further, it is desirable for the exchange rate with rare earth ions in about 5% or more and the zeolite exchanged with lantan ions is preferable.
