Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of an auxiliary fuel in an incinerator, wherein solid waste is decomposed into molten slag and inflammable gas, by utilizing slag as it is sirculated, so as to attain a production rate of slag of 200W400kg per 1 ton of waste, whereby the waste disposal efficiency can be improved.
CONSTITUTION: Waste introduced into a furnace from an inlet 7 is accumulated in a shaft portion 12 to be transferred to a thermal decomposition zone 2, a combustion melting zone 4 and a hot water reservation zone 5 in the mentioned order. The waste is then discharged from a slag discharge port 6. In order to decompose solid waste into mainly molten slag of 1350W1550°C and inflammable gas, oxygen of 150W300Nm3 per 1 ton of waste is supplied, to the furnance, and an auxiliary fuel is used as necessary to allow the temperature of slag to be increased to the above-mentioned level. In order to retain the fluidity of slag at the mentioned temperature, lime is supplied to the furnace to attain the ratio of CaO/SiO2 of not less than 0.5. At the same time, slag formed in the furnace is utilized as it is circulated, to attain a production amount of slag of 200W400kg per 1 ton of waste.
